Hello Superheroes!! We are trying to bring a program called Blessings in a Backpack to Chets Creek this year with the help of Chets Creek and Beaches Unites Methodist Churches.
Blessings in a Backpack is a results oriented program. This unique program is designed to feed elementary school children who qualify for the free and reduced meal program and may not have any or enough food on the weekends. Every Friday, students receive a backpack filled with food to bring home. They return with their empty backpacks on Monday fed and ready to learn. The process is then repeated every Friday during the school year.
In conjunction with a local grocery partner, it takes $80 to feed a child for the entire school year. We have over 100 children at Chets who would benefit from this program. Please spread the word to any friends and family who might help us be Superheroes for our children. They can donate directly to Blessings in a Backpack and earmark their donation for Chets, or write a check to Blessings and I will get it to the local chapter. Thank you for your support!
