Garage Sale!

This year Chets Creek Elementary will be hosting and participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event. The event will take place in May. To raise money for this fantastic event, Chets Creek will be hosting a Garage Sale. On Saturday, February 7th, from 8am-12pm, we will host a garage sale in the front of the school. You can help by donating gently used items and by attending the event! Donations can be brought to Chets Creek on Friday, February 6th.

Electromagnetic Induction Virtual Lab

Use the simulation “Faraday’s Electromagnetic Lab” (in the Electricity, Magnetism, and Circuits section) on the website http://phet.colorado.edu/new/simulations/index.php to help complete this upcoming lab. Click the “Electricity, Magnets & Circuits” (in the left hand column), click on “Faraday’s Electromagnetic Lab”, click on the “Run Now” button to start.

Bar Magnet Tab – General Magnetism
Click on the Bar Magnet Tab and you should see a bar magnet and compass on the screen. Please note that the color red refers to North and white refers to South. Place the compass at the North end of the bar magnet and observe which way the “red tip” of the compass points. Move the compass to the South end and observe where the “red tip” of the compass points.
